Singapore bunker prices climb as VLSFO lead times start near 13 days
What it means for buyers
Book Singapore stems at least two weeks ahead, and allow up to three weeks for VLSFO or HSFO.
VLSFO and HSFO prices moved up in Singapore, Zhoushan and Fujairah on 30 October, according to Engine. Zhoushan posted the biggest VLSFO gain of the three hubs, with Singapore close behind. LSMGO rose in Fujairah and Zhoushan but eased in Singapore.
Singapore's October averages for both VLSFO and HSFO are running well above September. Engine says the VLSFO average is close to the March level, which was the highest monthly figure since mid-2022.
Availability in Singapore stays tight. Fuel oil inventories are constrained, and lower supply flows across East of Suez keep pressure on the port. Current lead times reported by Engine:
- VLSFO: around 13 days, with some suppliers advising more than three weeks
- HSFO: around 10 days, stretching to as long as three weeks
- LSMGO: 9-11 days, a narrower range than last week
For buyers, this means a Singapore call inside the next two weeks may be hard to cover at short notice. Fixing grade and quantity early, or checking Zhoushan and Fujairah as alternatives where the route allows, can help avoid delays and last-minute premiums.
